The Thursday Club - Point Loma
San Diego, CA
The Thursday Club has been around since the 1920s, and you can definitely feel the historical San Diego charm in the details. It was originally built as a women’s social club, and today it’s one of the city’s most loved wedding spots for its ideal and quiet ocean view location.
The club sits right in the heart of Point Loma, just above Sunset Cliffs. That means you get an ocean view, a breeze off the water, and easy access for guests since it’s not far from downtown. It does sit in a residential neighborhood, so I believe that means a curfew is heavily enforced.
The venue is simple, classic, and relaxed. There’s a garden for ceremonies, a terrace that catches the best golden-hour light, and an indoor space that feels warm and inviting without being over the top. Little details like the stained glass windows, mix of different natural floorings, and spanish-style architecture really give the place character compared to other Clubhouses i've been to.
What I love most here is how many natural backdrops you get without having to leave the property or walk very far. The whole venue is very accessable and walkable. However, the small size might mean they can't accommodate more than 150 guests. Regardless, The mix of ocean views, garden greenery, and vintage indoor details give the illusion of a large and expansive venue.
