DO I HAVE TO HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER FOR MY WEDDING?
The quick answer is no. I feel strongly that the most important thing on your wedding day, is that you are happy and enjoying your celebration of love. Even if that means rejecting what friends, family, or even tradition asks of you. HOWEVER, I believe the odds of you regretting not to have a photographer are very high and your photographer is usually one of your most important assets on your big day. Choosing to get married is arguably one of the biggest mile stones of your life and ideally one of the happiest days of your life. Not only capturing all your memories from that day in detail, but also the moments of the day you may miss or are absent for.

HOW DO I CHOOSE MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
There are 3 deciding factors to consider when choosing a photographer. Style, connection, and price are the main things your looking for when photographer shopping. Style is how the pictures look and how the photographer shoots. Connection is how the client and photographer get along such as having a similar vision, morals, or even lifestyle. Price is obviously very important and should also be taken into consideration by noting what is included in the price or what can be added on or offered in addition to.

Can a family member shoot my wedding?
your cousin or uncle can definitely shoot your wedding as long as you like stressful days, uncoordinated group shots, confusing cues, lack of direction, no shows, and photos that are blurry, grainy, crooked, poorly edited, overexposed or underexposed. Not to mention the lack of knowledge or ability to safely back up your photos in case hardware malfunction. Unless they are a professional ( and has shot a wedding before) It is not recommended.

Do I need a videographer?
Again, the quick answer is no. The longer answer is there is a reason people hire them and they are so popular. I have talked to many people who have said it was surprisingly the best part of their wedding and "that they could not imagine not having one." On the other hand, I have also talked to people who have said their video was not the best. However a poor video is more likely due to the couple hiring a cheaper videographer or not communicating their wants and needs with videographer. My advice would be to weight the pros and cons and weather or not memories in motion is important to you and if you do decide to hire a videographer, do your research and don't settle so cheep that your disappointed with the results..

Do you recommend any videographers?

what are the most important wedding expenses?
In my personal opinion, and from what I have observed, the top 3 most important wedding day expenses will be your :
- Venue 2. DJ 3. Photographer
It seems that those vendors are most likely to damper your day if you cheep out on them. That isn't to say that an amazing coordinator (sometimes included at a venue) or 5 star dinning isn't a great investment, but I have been to beautiful weddings where mom helped coordinate, there were no big flower displays, and the taco bar was delicious. I suggest that you find a venue that is very accommodating to make the day beautiful and comfortable, ind a DJ who is nice and understands sound systems and crowd pleasing, and hire a photographer who understands you, your vision, and the importance of lasting memories.

WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
My style leans towards a more photo journalistic approach, however I also uniquely specialize in proper posing techniques while Im taking portraits. I also favor shooting in natural lighting when I can. My editing style tends to have more warm, colorful, and natural tones, however I am constantly experimenting with my images and adapting my style with my own personal growth and preference.
